In preparation for next week's Chew Choo Saturday, the SMVRHM work detail to the Bitter Creek Western Railroad (BCWRR) today included: Don and Will Martin, Dan Alves, Ed Couch, Ken Kelley, Kevin, O'Roark, Dick Mininger, Jamie Foster, Don Loats, Dr. Marcus, and, of course, Karl Hovanitz (member of the SMVRHM and owner of the BCWRR).

Work trains are what make work days fun!

Lots of raking today.

If only he had a chain saw to hold overhead as they went by.

It was a work day out on the Union Pacific Railroad today, too.

Progress on the carbarn extension (over by the main yard).

Work Day at Bitter Creek
September 23, 2006

This new steel track was put in a few weeks ago. Now for final leveling, ballast, etc.

Bob Dietz is currently the BCWRR's signal man.

That 4th signal below the original three will signal the position of a swtich just around the bend.

The ballast supply pile is up on the Mountain Division.

A load of ballast heads down from the Mountain Division to where the track work is being done. Note that the locomotive is Kevin's SMVRR No. 1801.

Note the beautiful clearing project underway.

Kevin really gets into his work!
