Amtrak does seem to have an issue with time.


The southbound Coast Starlight (Train #11) was about an hour late going through Grover Beach.




And a few minutes later, the southbound Surfliner approaches.




The railroad-themed Station Grill is right across the tracks from the Amtrak station. Station Grill, 170 W. Grand Ave, Ste 101, Grover Beach, CA 93433, 805-489-2816. Fun place, owner operated.


The 180 building is the Grover Beach Chamber of Commerce.
The station is on the southeast corner of the Highway One and Grand Avenue intersection. More info.

Satellite view: The slightly curved northwest/southeast road is Highway One. The train tracks are the straight line leaning slightly northwest to the right of and paralleling Highway One. The station is the only facility between the two in this area.


Hello or goodbye?


This is the rear of the southbound Surfliner (Train #798) where two modern locos were pushing.


There's a nice locomotive mural on the wall inside the Station Grill.


Both are quite taken by the display of pewter locomotives.
