Lunch and Dinner Aboard the Silver LariatNovember 9, 2006The Santa Maria Valley Railroad ran a California Zephyr Railcar Charter on the Silver Lariat for its customers at lunch and a dinner train for railfans. The SMVRR GE 70-tonner No. 70 provided the motive power. Lunch Menu Customer Appreciation Special Route Sheet (PDF)  The early morning sun caught the roof of the Silver Lariat as the windows were being washed.    Engineer for the day was ex-Amtrak and Union Pacific engineer Jim McEntire. The conductor was SMVRR General Manager Dave Jennings.    KCOY covered the lunchtime event.  All aboard!
