Lunch and Dinner Aboard the Silver Lariat

The Santa Maria Valley Railroad ran a California Zephyr Railcar Charter on the Silver Lariat for its customers at lunch and a dinner train for railfans. The SMVRR GE 70-tonner No. 70 provided the motive power.

The early morning sun caught the roof of the Silver Lariat as the windows were being washed.






Engineer for the day was ex-Amtrak and Union Pacific engineer Jim McEntire. The conductor was SMVRR General Manager Dave Jennings.
